Data Science Manager Data Science ManagerLocation: Abu Dhabi, AESynopsisThe role is responsible for improving Etihad?s Data Science Capability (tools, skills, resources), by designing and building prototypes of automated decision-support tools using advanced machine learning techniques, build business cases, and assist internal and external IT resources put these prototype tools into production. The role also leads the engagement across multiple stakeholder departments to identify opportunities in terms of revenue improvement, cost reduction or customer satisfaction improvement and drive adoption of the developed modelsAccountabilities* Provide thought leadership in the Data Science and AI space across Etihad* Work with senior leadership to develop EA?s vision, operating model for Data Science & Advanced Analytics and Engage with business stakeholders across the group to field new projects, create business cases, and design high-level solutions* Manage and develop a portfolio of Data Science projects that create positive business impacts, such as cost savings, revenue generation, customer satisfaction, and risk reduction* Lead and empower internal and external teams of Data Scientists across all stages of prototype development from data exploration to Proof-of-Concept to Minimal Marketable Product (MMP)* Measure the incremental benefits of the tools and solutions developed and ensure that production tools are maintained and improved over time* Collaborate with and influence leadership so that the team?s work directly impacts the organization?s strategy* Manage Data Science platform and access to ensure a smooth experience for all contributors* Promote Etihad Data Science work through broad and targeted communications , and enhance the company?s understanding of Data Science and AI and develop deep partnerships with DTI and business teams to deliver on major cross-functional efforts* Lead in the recruitment and onboarding of new, offshore Data Science resources, as necessaryEducation & Experience* University degree education in mathematics/statistics, science or engineering is required; post-graduate qualification an advantage* More than 8 years of experience directly working with large, and complex datasets, interrogated with R/Python and SQL and/or proven ability to build working prototypes of decision support tools (predictive models, prescriptive models, recommendation engines, simulators) that execute in production and deliver commercial valueAbout Etihad AirwaysEtihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, was formed in 2003 and quickly went on to become one of the world?s leading airlines.
