Job Description

DescriptionJob description Hitachi Rail STS is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Junior <OCC System Engineer> who thrives in a fast-paced environment by performing a wide range of technical and administrative tasks. Mission:The resource shall be able install the project applications, run tests on the applications and know how to interpret the logs. The resource shall be able to create/clone a virtual machine in VMWare environment.Accountabilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Install application project in different environment ( e.g. OCI Containerization)
  • execution of integrated tests (FAT, FIT,SIT simulations);
  • Analyze the application log
  • Create virtual machine in VMWare environment
  • Collaborate with the different company departments;
  • Capitalize the projects experience and knowledge sharing (best practice, lesson learned).
Education requiredElectrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/University Degree or Equivalent Technical BackgroundTechnical background
  • Capability to define, assign and verify requirements to implement architectures of complex systems.
  • Experience in integration of multiple technological sub-systems, with SW and HW integration capabilities (including virtual machines, VMWARE)
  • Knowledge of key programming languages: Python, JavaScript, Web/Html ,Bash,Sql
  • Deep knowledge of OCI Containerization (Docker, Podman)
  • Knowledge orchestration strategies (Kubernetes)
  • Deep knowledge Linux Operating System both for users and administrators
  • Practical knowledge in networks design, both wired and wireless with hands on telecommunications systems including peripheral equipment: e.g. computer networks, optical fibres, protocols (mainly TCP/IP, UDP), on site controllers, data modems, terminals;
  • Nice to have knowledge of Zabbix and OpenSearch
  • Deep use of Computer Aided Design tools (Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel)

  • Capability on achieving assigned objectives on time
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set and team spirit.
  • Attitude to team working (in international environment and adapted to different cultures is a plus)
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information
  • Knowledge of railway business environment and customers is a plus
Language
  • English: Upper intermediate level required, any additional language would be a plus.
