Job Description

The Civil QA QC Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of construction projects within the maritime and marine engineering sectors. This position involves overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all construction activities meet the required standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on quality management practices and methodologies.Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control plans for construction projects.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  3. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
  4. Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports and non-conformance reports.
  5. Train and mentor junior staff on quality assurance practices and procedures.
  6. Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies to facilitate external audits.
  7. Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
  8. Review and approve material submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project specifications.
  9. Participate in project meetings to discuss quality performance and improvement strategies.
  10. Continuously assess and improve quality management processes to enhance project outcomes.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  7. Proficient in using QA/QC software and tools.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  9. Familiarity with maritime construction practices is a plus.
  10. Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001) is desirable.
