Assessment of children?s needs, abilities and behavior using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews with child and parents and direct observation of behavior.? Carrying out school observations and liaison as appropriate, including supporting teaching staff with the management of challenging behavior.? Provision of timely and comprehensive psychological reports, including a treatment plan.? Working as part of multidisciplinary team alongside psychiatrists, neurologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists;? Devising and monitoring appropriate programs of treatment in collaboration with colleagues and parents as appropriate.? Provision of advice and support to parents in responding to their children?s difficulties? Offering therapy for difficulties? relating to anxiety, social and interpersonal problems, challenging behavior and, increasingly, a range of more complex problems including eating disorders and depression; work may include a focus on either child mental health or on working with developmental disorders or a combination of both.
