Join us and leave a legacy of your own, as a pioneer in both the company and the industry.The objective of this role is to review and monitor high risk activities in the AML team and perform investigations applying a risk-based approach.Assist the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) unit within Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) to:

  1. Review and approve new to bank (NTB) high risk / sensitive relationships from Compliance
  2. Review and approve KYC refresh for high risk / sensitive relationships (periodic as well as trigger based) from Compliance standpoint
  3. Provide FCC advisory support to business covering areas related to AML, Sanctions and AB&C
Job Specific Accountabilities
  • Review high risk files that come to Compliance for due diligence purposes.
  • Provide AML advice to stakeholders on customers, transactions products and services.
  • Have sound knowledge on the CBUAE laws and regulations, international guidance?s and ability to translate these into policies and procedures
  • Understanding of red flags and vulnerabilities in the market and inherent AML risks
  • Understanding of how various license issuing authorities and federal/state government entities operate and controls they have in-place
  • Knowledge of functioning of the core systems and information, reports it can/cannot generate
  • Understanding of the Business models ? various sub-segments it entails and how these operate, and support functions like Operations, Credit
  • Understanding of relevant products and services and ability to risk assess these from an AML perspective
  • Ability to conduct proper monitoring and assurance reviews of systems and policies/procedures to ensure they are efficient and meet regulatory requirements
  • Proper know-how on performing financial crime risks and ability to translate these into presentations, analytical tools
  • Ability to articulate the financial crime risks in a concise manner to senior management
  • Ability to understand and correspond information, questionnaires of competent authorities ? wolfsberg questionnaires and make sound assessments on correspondent banks
  • Ability to communicate money laundering/terrorist financing risks, due diligence digital requirements to technology teams for them to translate it into technical requirements like BRD, BCD etc for system implementation
  • Data analytical and reporting skills related to AML risk assessments and monitoring AML-related issues
  • Stay abreast of related laws, rules, regulations and best practices pertaining to the financial crime world.
  • Provide AML advisory services to the international branches, in coordination with International Compliance team.
  • Review and respond to due diligence / AML queries involving high risk customers, high risk jurisdictions and high-risk products for the Personal Banking and Corporate and Investment Banking segment.
  • Review the due diligence performed by business on syndicate loans, borrowers, agencies and other third-party merchants.
  • Conduct review and testing of the customer risk assessment model and rating methodology.
  • Prepare responses to the AML questionnaires requested by correspondent banks.
  • Undertake screening activities for the AML unit.
QualificationsMinimum Qualification
  • Bachelor?s degree or higher in management, banking, finance, preferably with certification in compliance, KYC/AML/CFT or financial crime
Minimum Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a reputed bank within the AML/CDD unit.
