Job Description

Are you a PhD qualified Psychology Educator, passionate about teaching your speciality and expanding your experience by playing a pivotal role in the future of the healthcare workforce in the United Arab Emirates? The Psychology Department at Fatima College of Health Sciences with the main campus located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is currently inviting applications from experienced senior teaching academics in Psychology.DescriptionSenior academic staff required to teach into the Bachelor of Psychology program.The principal tasks include:

  • The development of and responsibility for curricula and programs of study.
  • The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars.
  • Covering all the Teaching and Learning activities (lectures, tutorials, workshops, clinical sessions, etc.) as planned in the curriculum
  • Significant contribution to the profession, and/or discipline.
  • Course Coordination.
  • The development and extension of the college?s network of contacts with professionals in psychology and related areas.
  • The maximization of the benefits of this network for existing and proposed courses, research and/or knowledge transfer activities of the college.
  • The day-to-day responsibility for the coordination of specific modules and/or courses.
  • The marking and assessment of student academic performance and progression quality.
  • Contributing to Program and Institutional committees.
  • Contributing to Curriculum review and development.
  • The attendance at departmental and faculty meetings.
  • Participating in student Practical Placement supervision.
  • The performance of other duties as assigned by the Head of the Program.
?Job Requirements
  • PhD in Psychology
  • Minimum Five (5) years teaching experience and/or two (2) years of teaching experience in Higher Education after completing the PhD degree
  • Experience of working in academic, health care institutions or research on Psychology related projects.
  • Experience of establishing the new program is an advantage
  • Ability of teaching a core area of psychology in a higher education establishment
Sound knowledge of Psychology, to include one or more subspecialties such as Clinical and/or behavioral psychology
