Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently recruiting for a Senior Telecom Engineer to strengthen our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE

  • To execute engineering Design, FEED and detail Engineering experience and Costing estimation for proposal in Telecom systems
  • Responsible for complete engineering document activities like preparing block diagram, functional design specification, datasheets, MR, equipment layouts, interconnection drawings, termination drawings, cabinet drawings
  • Take part in Technical bid evaluations, Vendor document review and approvals
  • Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate across the project/contract interfaces
  • Provide discipline support to the business
  • Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports
  • Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution
  • Deputizing for principal as required
  • Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports
  • Executing assigned personal objectives
  • Management of third party suppliers in the execution of Engineering delivery
  • Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
  • Coaching and mentoring as delegated
  • Supervision of Graduate Engineers. Provides input to the performance management of direct reports
  • Manage and supervise direct reports
Skills / Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry with experience in Engineering Design, , FEED and detail Engineering experience and Costing estimation for proposal in Telecom systems
  • Bachelors Degree in a relevent Engineering Discipline is required
  • Experienced in IT / Telecom field including Security & Safety, wired & wireless communication in Oil & Gas Projects and extensive knowledge in LAN & WAN, ACS, CCTV, FOC, IDS, PAGA, Hotline systems, F&G and IP telephone etc
  • Fully coherent in all international codes and standards.
  • Strong project-based delivery experience; strategic thinking; oral and written communication skills
  • demonstrable experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Broad understanding of the business drivers for oil and gas clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
