Job Description

About the roleMott MacDonald globally has years of experience in conducting apprenticeship and graduate development programmes across multiple regions. While we have apprenticeships across the UK and Europe, we will look to position this programme as more of a graduate development programme targeting early career professionals i.e graduates with up to two years experience.Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Under the supervision of the Project Engineer/Manager, perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering codes and principles
  • Maintain, develop and apply both transport planning and modelling knowledge
  • Research, analyse and report on a range of transport planning and modelling related projects
  • Provide input to technical notes and study reports
  • Undertake transportation data collection and analysis tasks
  • Undertake transportation modelling and analysis tasks
  • Support on technical deliverables of designs and drawings to the Project Engineer/Manager
  • Attendance at design co-ordination meetings and preparation of minutes
  • Providing input for monthly reports on progress on the project
  • Coordination with authorities / stakeholders
  • Assist the Project Manager as necessary (e.g. letters, meetings)
Candidate Specification
  • Minimum Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or Geography
  • A Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning or Transport Planning would be an advantage
  • Transport Planning courses or experience would be an advantage including junction/microsimulation analysis software such as aaSIDRA, SYNCHRO, HCM and VISSIM
  • Possess the drive to become a Chartered Engineer or achieve membership of any other professional engineering institute
  • Proactively take ownership of their own career take initiative and responsibility of work-related matters
  • Demonstrate flexibility by adopting to different work styles and behaviours
