Associate Director, Syndications and Structured Finance

Job Description

Role : Associate Director, Syndications and Structured FinanceLocation : DubaiRole Purpose:Syndication and Structure Finance is part of Corporate Finance and Investment Banking (CFIB). The incumbents focus will be delivering syndication and structured finance solutions to ADIB?s existing and new client base across multiple sectors in the GCC in line with the approved business strategy of the bank.The incumbent will support the Syndication and Structured Finance Director in

1. the origination, through interaction with clients, sponsors, banks and government agencies.
2. the execution of syndicated financing transactions under supervision of the Director and take ownership of execution including both external and internal work streams such as due diligence, credit approvals, documentation review, coordinating with Sharia for optimal financing structures and management of deal execution process with external advisories other finances and internal shareholders (risk, relationship managers, Sharia legal and compliance).

The incumbent?s responsibilities will also include working with other banks to provide support on the distribution strategy and originate multi-bank transactions.Key Accountabilities of the role

• Origination
  • Under supervision of the Syndication Director, support in the origination of new opportunities including market research, contact with principal players in the syndication space (companies, banks and governmental related entities), opportunity identification, developing pitches, development of indicative term sheets and initial credit screening processes.
• Financial
  • Achieve budget target to be set by the syndication director
  • Assistance with the growth of business through development of an active deal pipeline
  • Contributes to development of new transactions within syndication / structured finance space to complement product offering and revenues
• Execution
  • Leading role in the execution of syndications by managing all aspects of due diligence, reviewing, supervising, modeling work, discussion with clients, advisors, lawyers, other banks, , assist in credit approvals/CA preparation and other internal processes, review of term sheet, commitment letters and documentation
• Distribution
  • Maintain data base of banks with target market / return parameters / appetite for transactions
  • Conduct market read for syndicated facilities to assess appetite and pricing on the credit
  • Collect market intelligence on upcoming transactions

• Credit/Portfolio Monitoring
  • Assisting when required coverage teams with obligor requests for modifications, renewals and processing internal associated credit applications.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market conditions, key sectors, trends and transaction structures
  • Maintain robust credit/deal files for ongoing monitoring / tracking of facilities

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

• Direct experience / exposure to financing in GCC across all relevant industries (Prior Syndication experience in GCC markets a must

• Proven experience in developing/analyzing complex financial models, risk identification and analysis, drafting and presenting underwriting credit proposals
• Experience in reviewing finance documents including Sharia documentation structuring
• Experience in execution/managing internal stakeholders including lawyers, banks and clients.
• Ability to work with syndication director to price/underwrite/distribute exposures in the primary and secondary
