Senior Accountant - Fixed Term Contract

Employment: Full Time A leading global law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their Dubai offices for a fixed term contract of 1 year, covering maternity leave. Our client operates in over forty locations, with a presence in almost every country in the world and therefore diversity is a strong core value of this elite firm.The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all finance related matters in addition to liaising with both internal and external auditors, from preparation meetings through to final closing and recommendations, alongside the Senior Team. At the core of this role is providing full support to the wider finance team and reporting into the Finance Manger. Therefore, you may also be requested to travel to other regional offices on occasion to assist the finance teams there with any particular projects required.You will perform all general accountancy tasks for the region including payables and general ledger management, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, balance sheets, expenses and petty cash. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will also manage the payroll process including tax and any associated pension reconciliations. Therefore this is a varied role covering all aspects of finance, alongside any ad hoc project accountancy when required. The successful candidate will also be involved in VAT compliance, including VAT returns for several offices across the region and preparation and documentation gathering for annual Financial Services Audits. You will also assists in the monitoring of budgets, alongside the global finance team and take analysis of any discrepancies and unallocated balances. Production of the regions reporting schedules, ensuring that data and financial information is provided in a timely manner for the Finance Manager, is also a key component for this vacancy. REQUIREMENTS: Our client is specifically seeking those with a financial qualification including ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW and experience from within an international law firm, which is essential to this role. In addition, you will have a minimum of 4 years of overall accounting exposure.
