Job Description

Employment: Full Time Accounting & ControlKeep books for the Government of Ras Al Khaimah entities for which is entrusted responsibilityVerify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions in accordance with accounting policies and proceduresPrepare monthly payroll and employee final settlementReconcile sub-ledger balances with general ledger at periodic intervalsReview bank reconciliation statements on weekly basis and identify reconciling itemsEnsure the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the company and for companys direct subsidiaries in compliance with IFRS and / or other guiding principlesCoordinate and facilitate the timely completion of annual statutory audit for the company and the company GroupCoordinate and facilitate the timely completion of internal audit for the companyEnsure compliance to accounting policies and procedures of the companyAdhere to procedures to enhance effectiveness of controlsMaintain and update loan master schedule and fund movement between GOR entitiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date cash flow statements for the company and the company subsidiaries on monthly basisRecord all transactions with compliance to VAT and maintain all records for VAT purposeMaintain documentation related to high end assets such as land, buildingCoordinate with treasury department for all fixed deposit related transactionsEnsure timely payment of interest and principal amount on loansEnsure the completeness of documentation and recording of transaction in SAPAdherence to checklist of month end, quarter end and year end closing activityEnsure Cut off procedures are applied on quarterly basisEnsure all listed investments are valued at mark to market (MTM) at each reporting periodEnsure appropriate approvals & completion of documentation prior to posting transaction in SAPBudget vs actual variance analysis for the company and department wiseEnsure the existence, accuracy and maintenance of master files where required, such as CoA, asset register, loan master etc.Check and process government related fundings to entitiesReconcile current account with all government entitiesReconcile TRM utilization report to TRM posting reportConsolidationEnsure the collation of data from the company subsidiaries / associates on quarterly / annual basisEnsure all Intercompany transactions are identified and eliminated in respected headsProvide support for timely preparation of consolidation quarterly and annual accounts of the company and its subsidiariesOthersEnsure that the current IT platform is optimally utilized for routine activityCo-ordinate and assist internal and external auditors to facilitate the audit processEnsure the collation of statutory audit reports of the company subsidiaries & associatesTake responsibility for delivering any formal, informal or ad-hoc operational or financial information requestsPreservation of documents in line with statutory requirementsUndertake training to remain up to date with current / emerging guidelines on GAAPCOMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:InternalCompany Finance TeamAcross the company DepartmentsReasons for Interaction:Operational & functional needsExternalFinance staff of company Subsidiaries & AssociatesBanksReasons for InteractionEstablish and maintain strong relationships and for efficient discharge of day to day activities REQUIREMENTS: Educational Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting & FinanceProfessional QualificationsProfessional accounting qualification (CA/ACCA)Years of Experience5~6 years post professional qualification experience in accountingWell versed with IFRS and its practical implementationBe able to understand the accounting implications of various transactions (acquisition and disposals, complex financial instruments etc.)Proficiency with SAP/ Oracle is desirableOther requirementsExperience working at a fast-moving, global company with international subsidiariesStrong technical accounting backgroundStrong communication skills, ability to develop good working relationships, adept at working individually and as part of a cohesive teamAttention to detail and ability to analyse data and problem solveStrong working knowledge of MS Office suiteAbility to partner with cross-functional teams to drive and influence business solutions
