Duties and Responsibilities:Patient Services:To observe the patient doing task, ask them questions and review their medical history.o evaluate the patients condition and needs.To develop a treatment plan for patients, laying out the types of activities and specific goals to be accomplished.To help people with various disabilities with different tasks, such as leading an autistic child in play activities.To evaluate a patients home or workplace and based on the patients health needs, identify potential improvements such as labelling kitchen cabinets for an older person with poor memory.Educate patient?s family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.Recommend special equipment, such as wheelchair and eating aids, and instruct patients how to use them.Assess and record patient?s activities and progress for patient evaluations, for documentation.Health Promotion and Education:To plan, supervise and be actively involved in educational programs for health professionals.To plan and actively participate in educational programs for patients andfamilies.To participate in continuing education programs and development of skills.Ethics:To maintain patient confidentiality and act in an ethical and professional manner in accordance with codes of behaviour and policies and procedure.To use tact and good judgment in all communications when dealing with other staff members.To perform other applicable tasks within the realm of knowledge, skills and abilities.
