As an international institution, AKU operates on the core principles of quality, relevance, impact and access; and AKU is a model of academic excellence and an agent of social change.˙Job Role / Responsibilities:Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology you would be responsible for supporting equipment in a Microsoft Windows environment, from design through implementation and support.Specifically, you will be responsible to:

  • ensure 24/7 availability to provide expert level support to any issue that may arise in System, which includes Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012 & 2016), Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2013, Microsoft Azure, Patient Care, PeopleSoft and Web Servers
  • troubleshoot and resolve all windows OS related issues
  • understanding of Active Directory Roles and Group Policy
  • understanding of DNS, DHCP and RDS Servers
  • monitoring and maintaining of Windows Servers 2008/ 2012/ 2016
  • administration of Microsoft Azure
  • understanding of PowerShell and Scripting Languages
  • management of Virtualization management tools
  • maintain maximum up time of all business services
  • providing support to different teams for day to day operations and manage all requests and assist helpdesk teams to resolve all issues
  • assisting helpdesk engineers in technical operations and ensure utilization of all tools efficiently
  • preparing all required documents and ensuring compliance to all organizational policies/ practices
  • proactively monitor servers health by utilizing and configuring various system management tools such as SCOM and IP monitor
  • identifying and Eliminating of Security Risks to System by regularly taking lead in deploying patches to the servers
  • prevent the environment from being effected by malicious software through monitoring and maintenance of Antivirus for all servers and user PCs
  • taking Backups of critical applications to ensure safety of data and minimum recovery time in case of disaster
  • server Consolidation through Virtualization (Hyper-V and VMware)
  • configuration and management of HP blades
  • software distribution and patch deployment through SCCM
  • management of Virtualization management tools
  • maintain maximum up time of all business services.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
  • Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering.at least 3 years relevant experience in the field of IT
  • infrastructure and Systems
  • technical, analytical, interpersonal and organization skills require
  • strong hands-on experience on Microsoft windows (2008 R2, 2012 and 2016), Microsoft Exchange, Failover Clusters, Hyper-V, Active Directory, SCCM, and SCO
  • good communication skills and ability to work in team
  • MCSA, MCSE and VCP will be preferre
  • excellent working knowledge of up-to-date desktop application
  • ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal
  • ability to work well with others, as well as independently
  • strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a business environment.
