Mechanical Master Technician (German Nationals Only) - Relocate to Makkah

Job Description

System exposure:The exposure to and thorough onsite knowledge of the following systems (Installation, testing and commissioning) is critical:

1. Plumbing:
2. Cold water supply (Must be aware of types of pipes, fittings related)

5. TSE (Treated sewage effluent)/ sewage treatment plants
6. Treated grey water/ grey water treatment plants
7. Odour control units
8. Drainage systems
9. Grease traps
10. Storm water drains
11. Pumps and related
12. Valves and related
13. Instruments & related
14. Fuel and oil system
15. Firefighting:
16. Wet sprinkler systems
17. Clean agent fire suppression system like FM-200, NOVEC etc.
18. VESDA system/ Aspiration systems
19. Pre action valves, zone control valves
20. Fire pump assemblies etc.
21. Smoke management systems
22. Stair case pressurization
23. HVAC:
24. Chilled water system (must be aware of types of piping, mechanical couplings, fittings, etc.)
25. Hot water boiler system
26. Chillers
27. Chilled water pumps and related
28. Instruments and related
29. Valves & related (Motorized, Modulating, Butterfly, gate valves, solenoids, PICV, DRV etc.)
30. Air handling equipment like: FCU, AHU, FAHU, Ecology units, recovery units etc.
31. Ventilation equipment like, Fresh air and exhaust fans etc.
32. Ducting, insulation etc.
33. Chilled water pipe insulations etc.
34. Dampers and related (Manual damper, MSFD, Motorised damper)

Should have successfully completed projects in the above mentioned fields of expertise.Should be aware of BMS and its control philosophy for HVAC system, Energy management and other systems.Must be well aware of control valves of different kinds like motorised, modulating, and manually operated.Must be able to read and interpret equipment specifications, Installation instructions, and operation and maintenance manual/procedures of all kinds of equipment.Should have a thorough understanding of Chilled water network consisting of Air cooled chillers, Primary and secondary pumps, heat exchangers, insulation requirements, Fan coil units, Air handling units, Energy recovery units, Refrigeration equipment, and all associated ducting works, dampers and its control in case of MFSD, filters, control valves for chilled water, differential pressure sensors, pressure sensors, temperature sensors and indicators, thermostats and controllers.Must have ample knowledge on air and water balancing.Read and interpret shop drawings and control schematics.Understands AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits. Ability to read basic wiring diagrams.Must be well aware of Standard Mechanical engineering standards like ASHRAE, SMACNA, and International mechanical code.Must be well aware of safety standards to be followed in work environments, should comply with Nebosh, OSHA, IOSH.Must be aware of Fire protection basics complying with NFPA. Must be well aware of Smoke extract systems, Stair case pressurization systems design, maintenance and control philosophy.Should be able to read and interpret all kinds of drawings related to HVAC system and sub systems, Flow diagrams, Riser diagrams, Control drawings, BMS Drawings and related control philosophy.General Duties:

1. Responsible to the appropriate Supervisor, the ?Master technician? works within his area of responsibility to organize and supervise the work for his staff. Also coordinates activities with administrators, supervisors, foreman, technicians, other workers, and performs work within his trade certification when required.
2. Able to individually supervise & perform tests required after services installations like pressure testing , chemical cleaning, hydraulic tests, pneumatic tests etc. for piping networks.
3. Leakage tests for ducting networks.
4. Should have pre commissioning knowledge.

1. The master technician is expected to communicate with employees the Employer?s expectations of workplace performance including advising, directing, and providing technical assistance to the technicians when necessary.
2. Works independently, and when required, travels from job site to job site.
3. Reviews work requests to determine personnel requirements, informs purchase requests to supervisors for necessary materials, ensures tools and equipment are available, and establishes a schedule to complete the work within acceptable time and quality parameters.
4. Estimates labour, materials and other requirements for completion of specific jobs and provides written estimates when required.
5. Reviews with his staff, on an individual or departmental basis, those policies, procedures, regulations, and terms of the collective agreement relative to the day-to-day operation of his department.
6. Initiates discussions on a regular basis concerning work related issues such as team building, conflicts and work performances, with a view to seeking solutions.
7. Researches information and develops new procedures in conjunction with his supervisor to improve the workings of his department.ÿ
8. Responds effectively to enquiries from contractors, technicians etc.
9. Maintains a working inventory of parts, supplies or equipment for his area of responsibility.
10. Procures goods and services from vendors when required using petty cash, standing purchase orders, etc. (If required)
11. Obtains permits when required for high hazard works as per site safety requirements
12. Performs other assigned duties related to the above.
