The R and Shiny Developer is responsible for developing technology solutions that contribute to the success of the Biostatistics million and long-term goals. This role will develop and implement data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical models to support colleagues? ability to drive business outcomes Job Responsibilities: Create, maintain, and develop interactive Shiny applications for internal customers Provide scalability, security, and modern UI/UX with custom R packages Develop & scale Shiny apps for enterprise users that are capable of hundreds of simultaneous users and can operate on a distributed infrastructure Create data visualization dashboards with the use of Shiny modules Create R packages and custom internal tooling to support the development of dashboards Host workshops and create tutorials and other documentation with other team members to share learnings What will your work look like? You?ll work in a team of 2-5 people on one or two projects at a time We work in an agile way (Scrum / Scrumban) You?ll be hand-on with clinical trial data to create appropriate and high-quality visualizations You?ll join a team of software engineers and data scientists You will provide high quality and efficient code ? an integral part of your work will be coding, code review, unit tests, end-to-end tests, and best practices that we share in our Tech Talks Qualifications: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience of working with R and Shiny applications Excellent R programming skills and experience building interactive Shiny applications, preferably using Shiny modules Experience in creating data visualizations SQL Git Excellent listening, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Ability to understand business problems and bridge the game between data analysis results and meaningful business insights and visualizations Well versed with R packages designed for data science (eg. tidyverse) Nice to have: JavaScript (React.js or other frameworks) Cloud deployment experience UI/UX principles and HTML / CSS Experience Technologies we use: R Shiny JavaScript Python Docker React GIT Azure HTML CSS At GSK we value diversity (Gender, LGBTQ +, PwD etc.) and treat all candidates equally.
