1. JOB PURPOSETo administer all Data Storage related tasks and responsibilities including their maintenance and troubleshooting, in order to ensure smooth workflow and avoid any disruption to the bank?s business services.4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESDescriptionStorage AdministrationCarry out all Infrastructure storage related configuration activities including storage and hosts zoning, storage provisioning, copy services and masking, disaster recovery configuration and replication for the different SAN storage technologies and platforms to provide the bank applications with the required storage with the maximum performance.Design, Install and operate the Network Area Storage (NAS) infrastructure and work on continuous improvement for the performance while ensuring high standard of security and vulnerabilities remediation.Configure, maintain and manage continuous data protection for databases and critical systems (EMC Recover point) and support during recovery of those database and critical systems.Review the storage platforms and SAN switches software and firmware life cycles review vendors functional and security newsletters and carry out software and firmware upgrades, apply fixes and security patches.Ensure all storage platforms and SAN switches, storage replication and continuous data protection are monitored, logging, alerting and notifications are enabled/configured along with employing specialized monitoring tools for each storage and SAN connectivity technology (Brocade Network advisor, IBM STOR2RRD, EMC Viber SRM, etc.) which will give deep insights on the storage and san switches performance and healthiness in order to act proactively on predictive failures or bugs.Perform large scale migrations and upgrades during storage technology refreshes and capacity upgrades to provide better storage performance, and connectivity along with storage resources availability. Participate in storage solutions? upgrade design, architecture reviews, security reviews, capacity planning, and performance trend analysis.Troubleshoot storage performance, connectivity issues, replication and continuous data protection issues along with providing root cause analysis and provide support to other teams during issues.Perform on-going tuning, capacity efficiency, cleansing and resources reclamation to ensure that storage resources are being utilized optimally and to ensure the availability of storage resources.Perform and automate ongoing health checks, capacity utilization trend analysis, and conduct risk assessment exercises for backup solutions to ensure efficiency, availability and smooth functionality.Continuously ensure Disaster Recovery Readiness, replication functionality and conduct disaster recovery tests to validate the configuration and readiness.Apply fixes and security patches to remediate security issues, comply with the global security standards (PCI, ISO, etc.), close audit requirements and findings and support the bank strategy for implementing security baselines.Apply technology best practices, upgrades, apply vendor recommendations service and operation level agreements (SLA/OLA), in addition to abiding to target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). And provide support to the applications? different teams during projects and implementations and changes.Policies, Processes and ProceduresFollow all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent mannerDay-to-day operationsFollow day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the IT Infrastructure Management department to ensure continuity of work.ComplianceComply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB?s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risksQualifications & ExperienceBachelor Degree of Computer science, Information system or Equivalent Degree.Administrator: Minimum 2-4 years of experience in infrastructure services and storage administration.Senior Administrator: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in infrastructure services and storage administration.Good Knowledge in the following technologies:Brocade SAN and IBM Storage (SVC, ESS, TPC)EMC Data Domain, VMAX, PowerMAX and RecoverPointStorage Area Networking (SAN) and Network Area Storage (NAS) conceptsOperating Systems (UNIX, MS Windows, Solaris, Linux) and Host Bus Adapter conceptsScripting experienceMinimum to have one certificationIBM, EMC or Brocade Storage related CertificateSkillsGood command of English and Arabic languagesGood Communication and Presentation skillsGood Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving skillsBackground of ITIL foundations
