Job Description

Job PurposeJob Purpose Manage Emirates revenue management disciplines to ensure Emirates Airline revenue and yield is maximised, with EKs competitive position maintained on a regional and network basis. Ensure and maintain accurate forecasts through the formulation of market analysis and strategies, facilitating pro-active decision making in offering/withdrawing prices and inventory thus optimising network revenue. Develop and maintain expertise around revenue management principles and techniques.Job AccountabilitiesGeneric . Optimise network revenues across all Origins and Destinations, including new routes, using processes, procedures and controls related to Pricing, Origin and Destination forecasting and flight optimisation through inventory control. . Evaluate market trends, forward bookings, competitor behaviour, performance of past initiatives and offer proactive recommendations and actions to drive network revenue daily. Using data sourced from multiple sources such as PROS, local sales offices, ATPCO, pricing systems, assess competitor activity, recommend, and prepare competitive responses and strategies aimed at retaining market share and optimising revenue. . Analyse passenger demand at market/flight level based on historical data, capacity, competitor environment and other factors. . Audit and ensure RO standards and procedures are followed to through both the regional RO Market Operations team, Inventory and Commercial Operations . Provide guidance and requirements to both the RO Standards and Procedures team and the RO Systems team on operational requirements for business process and system development. . Manage internal relationships ensuring Revenue Optimisation alignment with Commercial objectives alongside those of other internal stake holders SVP-CO, RMCO, Area/Sales Managers, Corporate Communications, Skywards, EGIT, EKAS, Planning and other departments.Flight Analysis . Achieve network revenue targets through the control of traffic flows, fare mix and overbooking. Set and maintain PROS system parameters for flight management. Monitor holiday traffic and group bookings on all future departures to ensure that optimum seats are protected for high yield passengers. Manage flight booking and overbooking profiles whilst maintaining an optimal class and traffic mix for allocated flights.Pricing . Perform comprehensive evaluation and analysis of all online, interline fare proposals from sales offices and approve, disapprove, or negotiate and recommend appropriate action and pricing authorization. Proactively develop competitive and marketable pricing products and distribution strategies, added value programmes, develop, maintain, and distribute to the local sales offices, pricing output in the form of circulars, agreements, website updates, group traffic agreements etc. which contain detailed instructions on the application of all pricing plans/programs.Demand . Manage point of sale O&D forecasting and optimisation systems by applying appropriate influences to ensure forecasts reflect market conditions and seats are available at fares that maximize revenue for Emirates. Monitor and control forecasts at regional, point of sale and flight level using forecast error reports and communication with RO systems team.Pricing Distribution . Manage and facilitate the distribution of fares with vendors in consultation with the MROs and Pricing analysts and develop fare distribution strategies and implementation time scales for stations that optimise and ensure a full range of fares is available at the time of published schedule. Design and implement quality control standards and review mechanisms that can be used for the review of auto-quote/pricing/ticketing functionality in MARS, GDS/CRS, EOL and other e commerce applications, etc.Business Systems . Plan, review and set up systems based on - business segments, sales channel and customer specific areas. Set up contract, Product creation, Account creations, rate definition and reviews, nominal mapping and threshold limits and user access management, analyse and define functional and non-functional requirements for assigned projects and enhancements. Identify and evaluate conflicting requirements and suggest practical solutions to achieve customer targets.Revenue Systems . Analyse capacity, booked and flown revenue data to derive revenue plans and reports, develop business specifications for new systems, enhancements to the existing systems to suit the changing business requirements and establish controls on the integrity and functionality of new system releases by developing appropriate system test plans.Global Distribution . Evaluate and compare Participating Carrier Agreements for each GDS/supplier and their impact on EK GDS levels of participation, analyse GDS presence, trends, costs and market share per country, per area and globally on a monthly and yearly basis. Use this information to recommend revisions to EK policy/new products/improved or increased participation to improve EK sale/prominence in each market. Enhance knowledge of NDC concepts and verbs to actively participate in testing and onboarding the GDSs through NDC, opening up means to personalise and offer Emirates enhanced content to the end consumer through GDSs.Interline and Codeshare Agreements . Provide analytical support and administer assigned code share agreements, competitive commercial passenger interline traffic (MITA) and prorate (SPA) agreements, products and services in support of EKs commercial objectives and employee benefit policies, evaluate and develop proposals for new commercial interline passenger and code share agreements against revenue/traffic/yield criteria and offline opportunities and recommend appropriate strategies for their successful negotiation/implementationStandards and Procedures . Develop Standard Operating Procedures and policies for all key RO functions including pricing, inventory, groups and demand management. Ensure documentation is regularly reviewed, updated, agreed, communicated and understood across all RO operational teams. Collaborate with Systems & Business Support, Analytics, Operations Research and IT teams to establish a robust QC process with alerts, exceptions against each critical process. Ensure training material is up-to-date and controlled on RO SharePoint, conduct trainings for RO new joiners, existing staff, UAE national trainees, commercial trainees, interns as and when required.Qualifications & ExperienceQualifications Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) Certificate/diploma in international ticketing and fare construction from IATA, UFTAA or a recognised airline in-house training facility Certified by ATPCO in courses that pertain to the coding and electronic distribution of fares and rulesExperience 5 years experience in revenue management or a commercial department as well as experience in the use of ATPCO, Airfare, Infare, PROS, Group Handling, Software developmentKnowledge/skills . Exposure to office automation environment as well as analytical skills, ability to perform statistical analysis of various business situations for revenue enhancement . Knowledge of fares certification obtained through Industry, IATA and in house sponsored and approved courses . Experience in any other programming languages such as Java, Python, R or C++ .
