Captive Insurance Manager/Technical Reinsurance Accounts ManagerOpened Recently Location Dubai International Financial Centre, Gate Village 7 Building, Dubai, United Arab Emirates Category Customer Services Job Id R_192872 JOB DESCRIPTIONMarsh Captive Solutions is looking for a Captive Insurance Manager/Technical Reinsurance Accounts Manager to join its UAE Captives Team!About the roleMarsh is currently recruiting for a Captive Insurance Executive / Technical Reinsurance Accountant in our Captive Solutions Practice in the United Arab Emirates (in Dubai and/or Abu Dhabi). Marshs Captive Solutions operations was established in 2009 and is building its team further to maintain its growth. Reporting to the MENA Captives Operations Leader, you will be responsible for providing client service, functional management, compliance and strategic direction in the delivery of professional captive management services.Job PurposeResponsible for the day-to-day management activities associated with assigned captive (re)insurers. This will involve the calculation and recording of all inwards and outwards reinsurance contracts of several captive insurers, ensuring that robust control and reconciliation processes are in place.Main Responsibilities include:Captive Client Servicing* Manage captive client relationships to ensure service satisfaction. * Manage the regulatory licensing and incorporation of captive insurers under our management in the UAE. * Manage and monitor the client services function within the office and operations group to ensure the highest performance standards and customer satisfaction. * Keeps internal and external clients as the focal point of all activities. * Prepare and manage client board meetings, draft minutes, and submit the relevant annual filings to the appropriate registrar of companies. * Represent the captive insurer at a senior level with the captive-owner, its brokers, cedants, reinsurers, regulators, loss adjusters and other relevant stakeholders within the industry. * Assist with calculating and booking of inward and outward reinsurance premiums, VAT and claims (including claim recoveries from reinsurers) in respect of complex captive reinsurance programs and their facultative reinsurance covers.* Record claims transactions, prepare claims reports and assist with reserving. Review and monitor outstanding loss reserves for each captive (re)insurer under management.* Provide inwards and outwards reinsurance premium and claims data to other stakeholders.* Assist with analytical review and interpretation of quarter-end results of all aspects of the inward reinsurance assumed and the outward reinsurance ceded.* Analysis of statistics for complex reinsurance programs.* Assist with VAT calculations / VAT return preparations.* Ensure high quality data and contract set-up within the captive management systems.* Provide support for cash received and interact with the r/I brokers and/or retro-markets to ensure that claims are processed and recovered.* Prepare missing account list to notify brokers on overdue accounts not received on a timely basis.* Assist with the preparation of captive (re)insurer Board meetings, Board packs and meeting minutes.* Liaise with fronting insurers, claims departments, brokers and captive clients to resolve queries.* Work collaboratively with other functional areas (operations, accounting, claims, risk and compliance).Compliance* Manage the compliance and anti-money laundering arrangements for each captive (re)insurer under management.General Management* Participate in the definition of the business strategies and objectives. * Work closely with the practice management and its operational teams to foster effective working relationships within the practice. * Set high standards for goals and internal compliance that result in top quality service. * Motivate and inspire team spirit. Develop office budgets/forecasts and business plans as required. * Manages all functions that contribute to the profitability of the Company and the achievement of its business objectives. * Exercises expense control and maximizes revenue and net operating income within the Company in compliance with corporate guidelines. * Monitors the profitability of client accounts and works with client service staff to achieve optimum pricing.Client Development* Lead new business activities for the region. * Build relationships with clients, prospects, the regulator and other stakeholders. * Manages the various resources that result in either the opportunity to sell insurance management and administration services to new clients or to sell existing clients additional company services. * Promotes awareness of Marsh through speaking engagements, interviews and publication of articles as necessary.Qualifications and skills will include:* Possesses a minimum of five to eight years of (re)insurance industry and compliance experience. * Experience working in a technical reinsurance accounting environment and strong data handling skills. * Reinsurance claims handling experience. * Good working understanding of the UAE VAT environment applicable to reinsurance transactions. * Good working understanding of regulatory compliance and AML regimes (DFSA/FSRA). * Committed to the fulfillment of the organizations goals and business growth. * A history with dealing with compliance, anti-money laundering, regulatory processes, and company secretarial matters. * Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills. * Successful client relationship experience. * Deep understanding of the regulatory prudential regimes applicable to the insurance sector and ability to independently research and apply location specific regulation. * Associate Chartered Insurance Institute / Bachelor degree in Accounting.Requirements include:* 5 to 8 years of experience in the (re)insurance sector in a technical reinsurance accounts management role.* Reinsurance accounts management (i.e. reinsurance contract processing, premium calculations and billing, reinsurance claim recovery procesing, etc) and UAE VAT experience (i.e. VAT processing) would be an asset.* Flexibility to work in both in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) as may be required by the business needs. * Flexibility to travel occasionally within the region as may be required by the business needs.About Marsh Captive SolutionsMarsh Captive Solutions is part of Marsh Inc., the Risk and Insurance Services division of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. and the world leader in insurance broking and insurance programme management for business, professional, institutional and public-entity clients.
