Job Description

Role Purpose:

  • Post Accounts transactions and reconcile accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance to all internal/regulatory protocols.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Transaction Processing:
Process ledger and booking entries according to stated procedures so that all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Procedural Compliance:
Ensure that all transactions and reports are processed according to internal procedures and guidelines so that the company fulfils all legislative reporting requirements.
  • Report Preparation:
Prepare standard reports from statistical and accounting information according to stated schedules so that all required information is available for review in a timely manner.
  • Data Accuracy:
Identify, investigate and rectify routine errors and anomalies in data and reports so that all financial data can be relied upon.
  • Internal Customer Service:
Provide advice as required to other business areas to ensure clarity concerning accounting requirements.
  • Data Storage:
Maintain accounts files and information in a way that allows ease of retrieval of information and reports.
  • Data Analysis:
Analyse ledgers and accounts to allow the reconciliation of financial data according to stated schedules so that the company remains aware of its financial position on an on-going basis and statutory reports can be produced within legislative time limits.
  • Non-routine Reporting:
Prepare non-routine financial data for management attention as requested in order to support management decision-making.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all transactions and reports are processed according to externally defined legislation and guidelines so that the company fulfils all legislative reporting requirements.
  • Self-Development:
Develop own professional expertise through optimising on-the-job training opportunities and formal training situations in order to improve levels of personal performance.
  • Appearance and Image:
Keeps self-well-presented and observes standards and behaviours that enhance the company image.Job Communication:Regular contact with his/her supervisors to provide them with the standard scheduled financial reports.Regular contact with other business areas to ensure clarity concerning accounting requirements.Periodic contact with the management to provide them with the required non-routine financial data.Decision Making:Suggest on financial data requested by his/her superiors to support their decision-making.Role holder at this level has an advisory & analytical responsibility in relevant to his/her reports in front of his/her supervisor.
