If you want to be a part of our unwavering team and can bring your sense of imagination and determination to every challenge, then this is the right place for you.Due to the continued success of our Middle East operations, we are looking for a Senior Road Management Centre (RMC) Traffic Operations & Maintenance Engineer to join our diverse team in Doha, Qatar.The RMC operation & maintenance engineer will work as part of a team to manage incidents, monitor congestion and facilitate maintenance activities using various tools available in the RMC Software System.Qatar Public Works Authority, known as Ashghal, has constructed and is operating a Roads Management Centre to coordinate its maintenance and operations as activities. It is a state-of-the-art facility, which uses a range of best in class technologies to maintain, monitor and manage the roads assets under the responsibility of Assets Affairs. The RMC is the hub for all Ashghal road asset related issues and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has the tools available to respond to and manage incidents and events that affect the Ashghal network quickly and safely. It is already an integral part of the Qatar National infrastructure and is working alongside key network partners such as MOI, MOTC, Supreme Committee and others to improve road safety, reduce congestion and improve the customer experience.The Senior operation & maintenance engineer candidate will be responsible for but not limited the following tasks:? The dissemination of information regarding activeincidents.? Coordination with emergency response units.? Maintaining a working knowledge of all RMC systemapplications.? Continuous monitoring of system devices.? Perform all traffic and safety related operations andrecord keeping duties associated with the smoothoperations of the RMC. Examples of duties include:? Monitor system resources to quickly detect and identifyincident or hazardous conditions? Monitor Roadway Weather Information System? Assist in preparing incident and construction eventinformation for subsequent dissemination? Display library or template based variable message signmessages in accordance with RMC guidelines? Monitor system performance and generate work orderreports as required? Perform record keeping tasks such as dailycommunication logs and incident reports.? Coordinate with other agency and construction staff? Reporting incidents using a variety of media andcommunication techniques? Support organizational values in delivering safer roads,sustainability and proactive traffic monitoring andincident management.? Provide accurate and timely information to stakeholdersand the traveling public, e.g., other agencies andpersonnel as requested.? Monitor the operation of the network by analyzinginformation from the GIS, Police Services, trafficmanagement systems, including CCTV, historic andpredicted traffic patterns.Title:Traffic Operations & Maintenance EngineerQualifications:? Minimum 10 -15 years of Post Qualification experienceworking with Intelligent Transportation Systems andTraffic Management Center operations.? Experience working for a municipal transportationdepartment and working knowledge of central operatingplatforms for traffic cameras and electronic messagesigns.? Experience with of central traffic signal systems.? Excellent project management skills, including problemsolving, maturity, empowerment and communicationskills? Ability to lead and follow protocol during a crisissituation.? Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicatewith internal agencies on status of varioussituations/projects.? Excellent communication skills including fluency inArabic.?
