Responsible for the primary setting out and establishment of a suitable control network.
Review / perform the following surveys: -
Post-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan and as required by the governing specifications.
Pre-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan or for complex assemblies as may be required by the Fabrication Foreman and Operations Engineer.
Survey of miscellaneous assemblies as required.
Continuous level surveys during load out and weighing.
Prepare Dimensional Control reports.
In case of non-conformance, generate an out of tolerance (OOT) report and resurvey the structure after remedial action has taken place.
Calibration of Survey equipment.
Monitor and update equipment calibration register.
Prepare Calibration Certificates.
Study applicable contract documents / standard codes and prepares a project specific Dimension Control Procedure.
Ensure that latest drawings are used.
Ensure dimensional control equipment is calibrated on a timely basis.
Discuss any non-conformance survey results with the Principal Dimension Control Tech and Project Superintendent.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
2 years Diploma in Technical Engineering or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years? experience in Dimensional controlling in fabrication.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Sound Knowledge in Surveying Instruments (Total Station, Auto level & Theodolite)
Computer Literate: AutoCAD and MS office packages.
