Job Description

Purpose of Role:?The purpose of the Products Portfolio & Pricing Manager is to ensure that commercial, yet profitable product ranges are developed and bought in order to maximize profit and sales. The Products Portfolio & Pricing Manager will ensure that all are working in conjunction with the merchandising strategy, the needs of the customer and the ultimate direction of the company.Accountability & Responsibilities of Role:

  • Ensure that stores, shelves or websites are stocked with the right types and quantities of products
  • Planning product ranges and preparing sales and stock plans in conjunction with buyers
  • Optimize sales volume and profitability by identifying profitable lines and bestsellers
  • Liaising with buyers, analysts, stores, suppliers and distributors
  • Ensuring up to date product range in all retail shops
  • Planning budgets and presenting sales forecasts and figures for new ranges
  • Working closely with visual display staff and department heads to decide how goods should be displayed to maximise sales
  • Display, arrange, price, and rotate products in store
  • Maintain store shelves by removing dated or damaged products
  • Monitor store inventory based on sales and intake
  • Make recommendations for promotional strategies using sales and pricing data
  • Work and communicate with buyers, suppliers, stores, and distributors
  • Identifying the right price point for the products on a weekly basis
  • Maintaining awareness of competitors Product ranges, Pricing and performance
  • Analysing every aspect of bestsellers (for example, the bestselling price points, colours or styles) and ensuring that they reach their full potential
  • Monitoring slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary
  • Gathering information on customers reactions to products
  • Analysing the previous seasons sales and reporting on the current seasons lines
  • Making financial presentations to senior managers
  • Accompanying buyers on visits to manufacturers to appreciate production processes
  • Meeting with suppliers and managing the distribution of stock, by negotiating cost prices, ordering stock, agreeing timescales and delivery dates and completing the necessary paperwork
