Job Description

The Sr. Graphic Designer is responsible for creating design solutions that have a high visual impact. The role involves listening to all stakeholders and?understanding their needs before making design decisions. The designs required could serve a variety of purposes, chiefly to promote products, sales & marketing effort, services and activities, such as websites, advertising, in-house corporate magazines, posters, product packaging, exhibitions and displays, corporate communications and corporate identity,?e.g. giving organisations a visual brand. This is why the role demands creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines. Typical work activities may involve managing more than one design brief at a time and allocating the relevant amount of time according to the value of the job.1. ?????????Specific Duties and Responsibilities:1.1??????????????Develops and coordinates designs and layouts for various promotional campaigns.1.2??????????????Meets internal customers and stakeholders to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job.1.3??????????????Interprets AKH business needs and develops a concept to suit the specific purpose.1.4??????????????Estimates the time required to complete the work and provides cost estimates1.5??????????????Develops design briefs by gathering information and data through research.1.6??????????????Uses innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.1.7??????????????Presents finalized ideas and concepts for approval.1.8??????????????Works with a wide range of media, i.e. CS Suite including photography and videography.1.9??????????????Proofreads and; seeks assistance from a third party in order?produce accurate and high-quality work.1.10??????????Contributes ideas and design artwork to the overall brief.1.11??????????Demonstrates illustrative skills with rough sketches.1.12??????????Works on layouts and art-working pages ready for print.1.13??????????Develops interactive design.2.??????????General Responsibilities:2.1??????????????Maintains consistent corporate image, brand standards and creative positioning, while adapting to specific audiences as well as the objective of messages and; adheres to the guidance of the immediate superior.2.2??????????????Works as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, sales & marketing coordinators, public relations, web developers and marketing specialists.2.3??????????????Works with technical personnel and vendors to ensure design specifications are met and utilizes software technology to evolve creative outcomes.2.4??????????????Assist in maintaining digital media updates pertaining to any design and desktop publishing changes in a timely manner.2.5??????????????Accepts direct requests from the Chief Operating Officer with proper information and update to the immediate superior.3.??????????????????Occasional Responsibilities:3.1??????????????Accepts and completes additional duties as assigned by the immediate superior.3.2??????????????May be called upon, or nominated, to attend meetings in the absence of the immediate superior.4.??????????????????Legal Responsibilities:4.1??????????????Ensures that all copyright infringement and intellectual copyrights laws are respected and adhered to.4.2??????????????Ensures that all work submitted is original and in no way lays AKH open to the charge of plagiarism.
