Job Description

Job ObjectiveTo manage, control and monitor financial and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with Qatar Cool?policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, international financial and accounting reporting standards.Strategy and Performance ManagementContribute to the development and execution of the department long-term strategic plan to ensure alignment with the unit?s strategic priorities, and the corporate strategies.Contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.Support in the monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators related to the department in order to track performance and recommend corrective action.People Management:Manage the activities of direct reports to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient manner, in line with the annual business plans, and policies and procedures.Manage the effective achievement of the departments objectives by setting individual targets, recruiting and developing staff, and conducting and reviewing performance appraisals for direct reports in order to maximize performance.Manage the training and development of team members to ensure continuous progression and a high level of competence within the team.Budget Planning:Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of the departments budget and advise line management on risks and opportunities.Cash Flow Management :Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and reporting of cash flow status and forecast to be able to carry out the necessary negotiations with Banks securing necessary funds to finance projects and other business activities.Maintain cash and bank accounts for Qatar Cool to record and accurately reflect cash transactions.Review and monitor the accounts on a regular basis to identify and address any points of concern.Financial Accounting:Manage the implementation of financial accounting and accounting system activities in order to ensure accurate measurement and recording of financial transactions within the ledgers to meet the Internal and External Auditor requirements.Manage the general ledger group (accounting team) to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met in accordance to set timelines and goals as well as in compliance to the International Financial Reporting Standards.Manage the execution of financial accounting activities to ensure that all financial transactions are treated in an appropriate manner according to internal and statutory controls, as well as appropriate international standards and financial information is made available in an accurate and timely manner.Control and ensure maintenance of the company?s general ledger including control of direct inputs and data transfers from subsidiary ledgers, purchase ledger, sales ledger, fixed asset register and trade accounts receivable ledger ensuring all accounting and bookkeeping functions are properly executed and all financial postings are correctly coded in line with Qatar Cool established financial and accounting policies and procedures.Perform a range of General and Financial Accounting processes in a highly professional, timely and accurate manner ensuring that records fully reflect all transactions; this includes activities related to LCs/LGs, Loans, etc.Oversee the issuance of financial statements to ensure that all transactions are well recorded and posted correctly to the system.Reconciliation and Control : Ensure control of general ledger accounts so that all financial transactions are recorded in adherence to international standards and QIG policies and procedures.Ensure smooth functioning of reconciliation and control activities related to specific departments so that accurate data is reported in line with QIG?s standards.Monitor generation of reconciliation reports in order to identify and highlight gaps, if any, and take corrective actions to report accurate financial performance.Oversee the debtor management process to ensure that debts are recovered on time to minimize bad debt.External Auditors : Lead the communication with and continuous reporting to the internal and external auditors to ensure abidance by general accounting principles at all time.Safety, Quality & EnvironmentEnsure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls for the area of responsibility in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, high quality service delivery and a responsible environmental attitude.Policies, Systems, Processes and ProceduresRecommend improvements to departmental procedures, and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, systems and controls covering the assigned areas of responsibility so that all activities meet Qatar Cool?s standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements, align to business requirements, and increase operational efficiency.Identify opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ?international leading practice?, in order to improve business processes, and increase operational effectiveness.Reporting : Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, and meet the departments requirements, policies and standards.
