Job Description

Job Mission:DC Manager is responsible for managing medium to large team of warehouse staff with supervisory and department management responsibilities and is the focal point in the warehouse and must ensure the warehouse staff are carrying out their duties as required.Should be able to analyze moderate to complex operations and / or problems, identify causes, document and present recommended solutions including the evaluation of risks associated with recommended solution and Build Business and People Capabilities by embedding the company?s values.To be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center.Administer all functions to ensure timely accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes while operating within budget.Job Responsibilities:Business:

  • Manage department cost according to the budget.
  • Ensure the shift plan is created and carried out in accordance with daily objectives and KPIs.
  • Maintain company standards in relation to H&S, Housekeeping, Food Safety, Accuracy, Discipline and Performance.
  • Supervise the activities of supervisors & team engaged in receiving, storing, sorting, and shipping products or materials.
  • Recognize and Resolve discrepancies as they arise.
  • Deputize for the Head of Operations, if required, in his absence.
  • Ensure Discipline and Standards are maintained and any breeches of said standards are dealt with as per company Disciplinary Procedures.
  • Respond to customers queries and complaints regarding storage and distribution services, if not resolved satisfactorily by Warehouse Supervisors.
  • Maintain and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
  • Develop or implement plans for facility modification or expansion, such as equipment purchase or changes in space allocation or structural design.
  • Participate in setting warehouse, transportation, and service rates.
  • Visiting customers to monitor the quality of service they are receiving.
  • Strong SAP/Oracle/ERP/WMS/Master Data abilities strongly preferred.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the National Operations Manager.
Leadership:
  • Develop the guidelines to clarify the key responsibilities and practices to ensure the team promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • Ensure the implementation of Company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote customer key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.
Self-Development:
  • Ensure the alignment of the company best practice and initiate the development plan based on the outcome of PDR and Career Development Plan.
  • Ensure performance review with line manager on quarterly bases and agree on action plan.
Performance Management:
  • PDR for the Team: Team up with the HR partner to prepare and timely submit PDRs? for all Team members, and ensure process completed on time as company communication and direction.
Organization & People Development:
  • Development (Coaching & Training): Identify Team training needs and work with his Team and HR to ensure skills gaps are covered through systematic coaching and training courses & on the job coaching.
  • Building Team Talents: Build Area pool of talents to allow for promotions from within and to supply the organization with capable Supervisors & front lines.
  • Team Building & Work Environment: Create/Maintain a vibrant, engaging and celebrative culture that deliver business excellence and promote personal learning & development and enhance company?s? values within each individual.
Responsible for delivering excellent Customer Service Levels for delivering orders placed by customer, according to the Company SLA, for the warehouses specified under scope.Leading the warehousing team leaders to deliver the customer service level as set by customer for order shipping and receipts.This includes working very closely with Head of operations manager, Sales Teams, Customer Service, Supply Planning Teams & principal Teams.On call, speedy action and work under pressure is required to ensure KPIs? achievement.Willingness to work overtime.Working in remote and arduous locations.Education:Essential: Bachelor?s degree in engineering, MIS, Business Management or Logistics / Supply Chain.Effective use of the English language.Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, communicating effectively, in writing and verbally, as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Logistics qualifications.Preferred: APICS (Operations) Certification, CILT qualification, Effective use of the Arabic languageExperience:Essential: Requires 3 - 5 years in the warehousing, transportation & Procurement Operations.Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods and applying best warehouse design / flow including the relative costs and benefits.Preferred: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.Experience at presenting complex information to individuals and small groups and conveying information effectively.Ability to instruct effectively, teaching others how to do something.
