Job Description

Are you an experienced Protection specialist with a passion for quality programming and an interest in expanding your scope and experience into new contexts working with partners? An exciting new?opportunity?has arisen within Tearfunds Eurasia and North Africa (ENA) Team in the role of Protection Adviser.?Tearfund is a Christian relief and?development?agency working in more than 50 countries, through direct?implementation?and in partnership with local NGOs and faith-based groups.?Tearfund implements a?comprehensive?Sexual & Gender Based Violence?(SGBV) protection and assistance strategy targeting?vulnerable?populations?across multiple countries.??Under the overall direction of the Eurasia and North Africa Director and Tearfunds technical Protection and Gender Unit, the Protection Adviser?will?represent Tearfund in the region on Protection issues?.The Protection Adviser will provide:

  • Both technical and operational leadership and support?for Tearfunds?protection programmes across the region
  • Strategy and program?development on protection issues
  • Quality oversight
  • Staff and partner training and?sensitisation
  • Liaison?and?coordination?with other organisations?working in protection
The successful candidate must be passionate about serving those in need with experience of working?cross-culturally and proven experience working in mental health and?psycho-social?support?is preferred.Do you feel you meet the above requirements? In addition, personal?identification?information?will be submitted against a Watchlist database to check against criminal convictions as a?counter-terror?measure.
