Essential FunctionsConduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections of railroad track, infrastructure, and equipment.Understand and adhere to FRA Title 49, Part 214 Railroad Workplace Safety rules and standards.Inspect the design, construction, condition, maintenance, and repair of railroad track, bridges, culverts, and other track-supporting structures.Identify and report defects or irregularities in the track or infrastructure.Work with maintenance crews to repair or replace defective track or infrastructure.Prepare and maintain inspection reports.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Two years of experience in railway track inspection or a related field.Valid drivers license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.Strong physical condition and ability to walk long distances and climb ladders.Good eyesight and hearing.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
