Job Description

We are currently looking for lab technicians who will perform routine tests in clinical laboratory to provide data required for diagnosis, treatment and follow up of diseases, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of test results. Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments
  • Receives labels and logs patient specimens including blood, urine, stool, other body fluids, biopsy, cytology and other specimens
  • Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
  • Ensures analysis of the proper specimen and the indicated test procedure for the concerned patient.
  • Responsible for centrifuging specimens to separate cells from sediment, serum or supernatant fluids
  • Calculates results, records all test results in logbooks, quality control records and documents observations
  • Notifies patient care unit and/or physician of all critical test values
  • Performs quality control checks maintaining accurate documentation and records
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and carefully while complying with policies and procedures regarding Department operations, fire, safety, and infection control
  • Responsible for running initiation protocols, calibration protocols, bi/tri level-controls on various laboratory analyzers at scheduled time prior to running patient samples
  • Carries duties in all general laboratory sections including biochemistry, hematology, clinical pathology, blood banking, and hormone units.
