Job Title: Chief Technology Officer?Reporting To: COOResponsible for leading and directing all technology activities concerned with operation, systems, projects and infrastructure and support for general trading, while ensuring the implementation of the same in line with policies, procedures and guidelines. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Key Responsibilities Strategy Formulation- Develop the Corporate Technology Division?s strategic objectives and KPIs and ensure all employees are working towards achievement of these objectives.- Review the operating results of the Corporate Technology Division and follow-up to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct insufficient results.?Budget & Cost Control- Develop the Corporate Technology Division?s annual budget and ensure all employees are working within the assigned budget by setting the required targets and responsibilities.?Policies & Procedures- Develop, and ensure Implementation of the Corporate Technology Division?s policies and the set procedures in order to achieve the department?s objectives.- Communicate and discuss the Corporate Technology Division?s guidelines and procedures with employees to ensure responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are defined and understood.?Technology Management Activities- Set company technical vision and leading the company?s technological development in line with General Trading Strategy articulation.- Identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs of General Trading.- Develop, track and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations.- Develop strategic plans and setting timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of all technical, web, and mobile services.- Direct the development and possible implementation of policies in instances of a breach, also known as disaster recovery plans.- Consolidate technology platforms and create plans for each by tracking, analyzing and monitoring technology performance metrics.- Improve the effectiveness of database tools and services ensuring all the data is protected and backed-up and complies with legal regulations and company policies and procedures.- Oversee end-user reviews on a regular basis for feedback on the systems, co-ordinate with other departments for implementation and ensure that development standards are adhered to.- Develop and oversee the implementation of the Safeguard Process by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures for all Technical systems on site.- Oversee the management of the overall in-house Technology operations dedicated to support all Divisions within company by consulting with Top Management to analyze technical needs for information management and functional operations.- Develop and monitor the technical aspects of company?s strategy.- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Technology suppliers for future selection and acquisition of software and applications.- Review, approve and ensure implementation of workflow management solutions that achieve business requirements, monitor development progress, review and report project progress and escalate issues and risks.- Oversee end-user reviews on a regular basis for feedback on the systems, co-ordinate with other departments for implementation and ensure that development standards are adhered to. - Oversee and monitor the maintenance of application architecture, processes, database structures and screen designs for consistency and ease of use for end users.- Oversee maintenance and security of technical results by developing and enforcing standards, policies, procedures, and controls.- Oversee the proper development, implementation, and maintenance of change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.- Oversee continuous effort in order to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline and improve quality of work and processes in line with company set policies & procedures.- Ensure clear and concise training is developed and executed for all end users interacting with company IT systems and solutions.- Perform ad-hoc and other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.?Continuous Improvement- Manage and oversee inputs and recommended continuous improvement of company practices, considering ?international best practice?, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans in accordance with Kuwait?s rules and regulations.?People Management- Oversee special and appropriate Training Programs for the Technology Department Employees to ensure that said employees are up to date with latest trends and techniques within Technology.- Conduct annual performance appraisal to review employees? performance. - Ensure the annual employee development plan is in place to maximize subordinate and functional performance in the pursuit of company objectives.
