Job Title: Chief Operating OfficerReporting To: Managing DirectorResponsible for implementing general trading company annual business and operational plans and developing strategic investment opportunities to ensure year end profitability and growth targets are met and aligned with vision, mission and values. Also responsible for guiding, directing, and leading the Operation Division?s in line with company standards and procedures..?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy Formulation- Formulate the company division?s strategic plans and budgets, identifying the long-term direction in order to support General Trading business plans.- Review the operating results of the Divisions and follow-up to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct insufficient results.- Direct and advise the medium to longer-term operations of Divisions by providing expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, providing leadership, and facilitating the integration of work processes in order to achieve high performance standards in a motivated work environment at company.?Budget & Cost Control- Develop and maintain the Division?s annual budget in order to ensure that adequate provisions are made for all activities. - Monitor and control expenditure against approved budget and reconcile budget variances to ensure on-target performance against budgets.?Policies & Procedures- Lead and direct the development and effective deployment of comapny policies, systems, and processes that support the achievement of the set strategy.- Ensure that the Division?s policies are in full compliance with the Labor Law and other Government legal provisions of Kuwait.- Ensure the implementation of the Division?s policies and procedures to achieve the Corporate objectives.?COO Management Activities- Monitor and oversee the Division?s operations and ensure that the implementation of all related activities to achieve the overall Corporate Objectives of the company.- Ensure that the Departmental activities are implemented in line with the Corporate Objectives and General Trading overall business requirements.- Operation Divisions Sales to ensure that all Sales activities pertaining to the Division are implemented in line with the Sales plan and set timeframe.- Lead and monitor the Operation Head Divisions, to ensure the adherence to overall Corporate Objectives, strategies, and established policies.- Monitor and identify the Division?s operational Risk, review the same with the Managing Director and implement appropriate systems to manage and minimize these risks.- Ensure that the Division?s operations are adhering to company?s overall goals, strategies, and established policies and procedures and are administering practices in a fair and equitable manner.- Provide advice and approval for managing crisis/ emergencies and ensuring the continuity of the Division?s operations efficiently.- Review Sales reports submitted by Division / Department Heads, compare actual performance with the projected business goals in order to identify any deviations, and recommend the appropriate action plans accordingly.- Review and approve the Division / Department Heads requirements including manpower, and equipment to ensure efficiency and best utilization of resources while achieving cost reduction.- Identify new business opportunities through creating new communication lines with key stakeholders and customers in order to increase company market share. ?- Conduct weekly meetings, with the Division / Department Heads to discuss work progress and any arising issues as well as attend meetings with General Trading top management whenever deemed necessary.- Maintain a strong relationship with all customers to increase General Trading client base, thus positively impacting the bottom line results.- Work closely with Marketing, Finance and Operations to define and deliver new products and enhancements.- Ensure Marketing projects are presented according to deadline, and take necessary action if deadlines are not abided by Employees.- Formulate art concepts by monitoring staff (Graphic designers & Photographers) engaged in executing layout designs for various platforms (advertisements, campaigns, promotional merchandise, etc.) to be presented by visual communications media.- Create designs, concepts, rationale and sample layouts for all creative artworks based on knowledge of layout principles, including translations across ATL and BTL advertising campaigns, ensuring campaigns are relevant within the market.- Liaise with the Account Management team to discuss market requirements, gaining an understanding of the target audience and meeting with the Direct Report before ideas are presented, in order to confirm they are final and therefore suitable for presentation to the public.- Assess and evaluate financial performance of company with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts.- Monitor the overall financial performance to ensure strategic and business plans are effectively implemented, the results are monitored and financial and operational objectives are attained.- Direct the preparation of annual financial operational plans to accomplish the structured delivery of the business plans.- Obtain Approval of company?s overall budget, ensuring that adequate provision is made for all activities, monitor and control expenditure against approved budget and reconcile budget variances to ensure on-target performance against budgets.- Review and monitor capital plans and budgets to ensure that plans are realistic and are consistent with the long-term strategy.- Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget.- Perform ad-hoc and other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.?People Management- Identify manpower requirements and Coordinate with the HR & Administration Department on all recruiting activities.- Work closely with the Division Heads to plan and advance the manpower agenda, analyze manpower plans, implications of decisions and address issues to direct the priorities accordingly.- Conduct annual employee performance appraisal of employees ensuring employee career development and motivation.- Recommend salary adjustments, rewards and promotions based on employee performance. - Ensure training needs of employees are identified and recommend relevant training initiatives that will assist in building a highly professional and knowledgeable workforce.??
