Urban Planning Project Manager

Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Urban Planning Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to overseen multiple urban planning jobs with consultants and follow execution stage to mange the conflict and coordinate with other stakeholders.What Youll Be Doing:

• Be able to develop urban design/urban planning schemes based on his professional and academic knowledge and produce a substantial urban design or master-planning scheme.
• He/she shall be able to articulate and communicate his/her ideas for discussion well through work sessions, presentations, forum and other means of collaborative engagement
• Ability to conduct research, technical and analytical tasks. Practice qualitative and quantitative methods through using data collection, survey, analysis and modeling tools for forecasting, policy analysis, and design of projects and plans. Ability to understand spatial systems, mapping and interpretation, including geographic information systems.

What Required Skills Youll Bring:

• Middle East Experience is essential, Urban Planning experience in Abu Dhabi is desirable.
• Bachelors degree in urban design/Architecture/Landscape (or equivalent) is required and typically 9+ years of Related Experience, or Masters degree and typically 7+ years related experience.
• Knowledge of planning theory, history of planning, planning law, land use and built form, related professions and practices.
• Ability to conduct research, technical and analytical tasks. Practice qualitative and quantitative methods through using data collection, survey, analysis and modeling tools for forecasting, policy analysis, and design of projects and plans. Ability to understand spatial systems, mapping and interpretation, including geographic information systems.
• Preparing plans, policies and related documents.
• Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding the terminology, practices, and principles of related professions, including environmental planning, zoning, policy planning, transport planning, urban design, and landscape design.
• Knowledge of project management.
• Excellent Written Communication. Ability to express ideas, request actions, formulate plans and policies, by means of clear and effective writing, in order to support professional communication internally and externally.
• Excellent Graphic Communication. Ability to present clearly and in an aesthetically pleasing manner using diverse sources of graphic software.
• Ability to understand and effectively use Microsoft Office, Adobe Suites, EsriGIS, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of and the ability to use a language (English and/or Arabic ) in a business context, both verbal and written.

• Experience with carrying out Large-scale Framework Plans
• Experience with carrying out Conceptual and Detailed Master Plans
• Experience with preparing Scope of Services, Schedules and Budgets
