Job Description

As one of the largest engineering consultants, we have access to 17,000 staff in the Middle East making us one of the largest multidisciplinary consultancies in the regionKey Responsibilities:Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements. Identify and report any violations or discrepancies.Quality Control: Monitor construction activities to ensure that the work meets established quality standards and specifications. Conduct inspections of materials, equipment, and workmanship to verify compliance with approved plans and industry standards.Safety Oversight: Promote and enforce a culture of safety on construction sites. Identify potential hazards and risks, and work with project teams to develop and implement appropriate safety measures. Conduct safety inspections and audits, and provide recommendations for improvement.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site inspections, including detailed reports, photographs, and measurements. Document observed issues, non-compliance instances, and corrective actions taken. Prepare comprehensive reports for project stakeholders.Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to address issues, provide guidance, and ensure project objectives are met. Communicate inspection findings, requirements, and recommendations effectively to relevant parties.Progress Monitoring: Monitor and document the progress of construction projects, including work completed, milestones achieved, and potential delays. Provide regular updates to project stakeholders regarding the status of the construction work.Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related issues, conflicts, and challenges. Provide technical expertise and advice to address problems encountered during construction activities.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to construction and inspection. Seek opportunities for professional development and apply acquired knowledge to improve inspection processes and techniques.Requirements:

  • A bachelors degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is typically required. Relevant certifications and licenses may also be necessary, depending on local regulations.
  • Proven experience in construction or site inspection, preferably in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex construction situations and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and effectively convey inspection findings and recommendations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting observations and generating reports.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools, equipment, and software applications.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor construction environments, often involving climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, and exposure to various weather conditions.
