JOB DESCRIPTIONRole : Risk Governance and Risk Policy ManagerLocation : Abu Dhabi - ADIB HQRole Purpose:The Risk Governance and Risk Policy team is primarily responsible for supporting the GCRO on:

• the end-to-end risk management and governance for Risk Committees, and other governing bodies
• Policy Management and regulatory governance programmes and special projects and initiatives
• providing independent oversight and assurance on the Credit Risk Management Framework

This role reports to Head of Risk Governance and Risk PolicyKey Accountabilities of the role Support the Head of Risk Governance and Risk Policy in establishing a sound Risk culture and processes across the bank. Risk Governance

• Support initiatives designed to improve the enterprise risk management framework throughout the community helping to embed a culture of improved risk decision making and accountability.
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of the overall risk management process for the organization.
• Design and operate an MI and reporting mechanism to demonstrate governance of policy compliance.
• Participate in reviews of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal auditors.

Risk Policy

• Design and maintain an effective end-to-end policy lifecycle (initiate, develop, update, renew, approve, communicate, use, retire), including submission standards, committee mandate, approval management and the flow of policy papers.
• Provide vetting, guidance and inputs in formulation of policy related documents.
• Coordinating with key business partners and stakeholders across the enterprise on policy related matters.
• Develop corresponding communication requirements for new and updated policy documents and work with communication partners in developing communication plans.
• Support the continuous enhancement of a centralised policy management application.

Other

• Provide support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organisation.
• Support special GCRO projects via providing meaningful contributions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Previous experience:

• A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or related field
• An advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) and relevant professional certificates is an advantage
• 10+ years experience in banking with substantial experience in Risk Management or Corporate Governance
• Experience working directly with or supporting governance in banking or particular financial services regulators
• UAE working experience of 5+ years
• Familiarity with the CB UAE regulatory regime pertaining risk management
• Proficient with Microsoft Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook
